Prayer Request Update

I feel that we should update on our request for prayer last week even though there isn't much to update. Steve talked to the man in charge of sending missionaries through YFC and it sounds like it won't really be an option for us. Along with having to be here for six to nine extra months (we're still not sure what we'd be doing other than paperwork) we would also have to partner with the YFC that is already in Ukraine, working in Kiev. If they don't see a need to start a ministry in Zaporozhye then we won't be welcome to go as YFC. There was still one other guy that Steve was recommended to talk to so hopefully he'll be scheduling that sometime in the near future. It's not completely off the table, but it's sounding like it's not a very good possibility at this time. We talked to Andrew (from G42) this week and as always we were so excited after talking to him - he just has a way of fanning the flames of what we want to do. He also had some encouragement regarding possible connections and people he could talk with to get this process going.

What we are looking for is an organization to do the administration work for us, as in, we can raise support through them for tax receipt purposes for our supporters. We need a Canadian organization so that we can still do our yearly taxes to have Missionary status as well we would still be able to receive government child support for our two boys, which would be really helpful. We don't want an organization that requires training (obviously within reason we would be willing to rethink that) because we feel with our Trek experience and G42 Leadership Academy we are mentally and spiritually prepared to go.

As for our house, we are preparing it for sale right now. We had some family and friends come over for an afternoon of painting on Saturday and Steve and I have been working away at little tasks getting things organized, tidied and getting rid of stuff! You may or may not have noticed the "Virtual Garage Sale" tab at the top menu bar - there's a brief explanation of the process if anyone is looking for any housewares!!

So as for what we need prayer for right now - a church or an organization that can send us. Thanks for praying with us and for continuing to support us. We can't wait to see how God works this out because it will be better than we can ever ask or imagine!

Prayer Request!

Steve has been talking a lot recently with Youth for Christ about being able to support-raise through them while we are in Ukraine. They do have YFC in Ukraine and usually send people out there to work with the existing youth ministry center however there isn't one of those in Zaporozhye. There is a possibility of us starting another branch of YFC there but at this point it's just an idea. Also the biggest thing on their end is that they usually require potential missionaries to spend six to nine months with their organization preparing before they would send us. This next week Steve will be talking to the guy in Canada who is in charge of sending missionaries overseas and will hopefully be able to get more answers as well as explain our intentions and ambitions.
So that being said please pray that:
1. This may not be a road-block but a good thing that jumps us forward to the next step
2. This man will HEAR what Steve has to say about our experiences, previous training (Trek and G42) and the time frame that God has been preparing us for and will be willing to move ahead with us
3. That we won't worry about this - whether or not God wants us to be part of YFC in Ukraine or not
4. Flexibility in our plan ONLY IF we feel that YFC is really where God wants us to be
