Thursday through Saturday we helped out at an English camp that was organized by a Baptist church here in the city. It took place at an old Soviet "camp" on Khortitza Island.
The boys loved this "castle":
Old Soviet campy-type signs:
There were some other Americans there - a missionary from a town south of Zap and his friend who was here visiting. They each preached the message on Thursday and Friday and Steve was there those days to lead the English discussion group.
The last day was Steve's turn to preach and he shared about God's love and salvation.
We invited all the teenagers to beach volleyball on Tuesday and we're really hoping some of them come. We had some really deep conversations with some of them as well as just getting to know some of them which is hopefully the start of some new relationships. The church hosting the event has a youth group but doesn't really have the desire to really minister to these kids so we're hoping they come to us and we can get them involved in the things we do, which ultimately can lead to them accepting Christ.
