Kak de la!!!

Today's work duty was awesome!! We headed out of Abbotsford to Steve Klassen's house for the whole afternoon. Steve lives on a hazelnut farm on the Fraser River valley and this picture is pretty much what they see out behind their house every day. Imagine having your morning coffee with this every morning? Ridiculous!! (the river is at the bottom where you can't really see it, it's a zoomed in pic for the mountains)
So right off the bat Steve K. told us that we were supposed to be having fun today. There was a morning a little while ago with a lot of frost and some of the branches broke off some of the hazelnut trees so we spent the afternoon cleaning up branches and making the biggest fire we possibly could!
Steve in the wild....gets a little crazy!
Around 3:30 was coffee time, which was rhubarb platz made by Steve K's mother-in-law. It was delicious!
Steve K. is also known for making the best chai tea on earth, no joke, so he made a huge pot of that for us to enjoy as well. Steve had the power of the moustache on his side today, and even convinced Dan that he needed one as well so they could be creepers together!!

This is the deck at the back of the Klassen property. Man, pictures just don't do anything justice!! I could have sat there all day and just stared at creation!!

These are hazelnut trees.
The branches were all so wet and the fire we had going kept dying so we resorted to good old gasoline for a helping hand. Unfortunately, it didn't really help either... The cart boys were shouting "Kak de la!" all day, which in Russian means "How are you", but they've started using it as a greeting, to express anger and frustration, as a pick up line, or just shouting it out randomly. So throughout the day we heard from across the way "kak de la!" or when they'd drop off a load of branches it would be thrown around by everyone.
Finally, the last 20 minutes before the sun went down, we finally got a roaring, successful fire!!
It was then time for a barbecue with the Klassen family before heading back to the Mark Center.

A) Steve, did you at least leave a turd in the bush?
B) Because of your mustache, we are proud to be your brother/sister in law.
