This past week was "Pancake Week" in Ukraine which is an Orthodox holiday where people indulge in all sorts of foods and activities before Lent begins. We only heard about it at school on Friday and then asked Marina more about it today. Our friend Steph on her way home from our house today, saw people outside burning what looked like a cross and called us to find out what in the world was going on!
