Nicolaipolia Round 2

Last Wednesday we headed out to Nicolaipolia again to help out the Canadian team that was here working on the building project. The guys went straight to work helping up in the attic, avoiding the holes:

It had come such a long way in just a little over a week, with the walls being up and tiling already being done in the bathrooms:

I helped the ladies get lunch together and brought it to the work site where everyone stopped to eat. There was a man from the village there chatting with Garry and then he came and asked if the boys wanted to ride the horse. We said sure, and headed out to the yard, where it was raining.

This may be a look of foreshadowing on August's face:

We thought that it would just be just a little jaunt down the street and back....

But he just kept going, and going, and going.

Eventually we ended up at his home, where he has bee houses:

And then he insisted that we go see Garry's cows no matter how many times we told him that we were soaking wet, freezing cold and have seen the cows many times. The boys were so cold and wet and usually to people here that means that they will immediately get sick and die, so I was surprised that even telling him that the kids were freezing didn't stop him but he just wouldn't take no for an answer. It felt like being held hostage on a horse wagon.

Oh look, the cows that we've never seen before!

Finally he pulled into Garry's shop and we hopped out in a big hurry before he could take us any further! The guys went back to the building project and the boys and I went back to the house where we eventually dried off.

Around 6:30 all 17 of us sat down for supper.

It was really fun meeting the team and being able to help out (okay, the guys mostly).
